Wardroblings 2009- FASHION INVASION

Wardroblings 2009. The theme? FASHION INVASION.

With the unsuspecting crowd expecting a high glamour, showy makeup, high hair and the usual fashion works, Wardroblings broke conventions with a guerilla-style show that literally invaded Phuture with fashion.

As the crowd filled Phuture, bought their drinks and looked around, our chereographer, Rizal, was on standby.

Just when people were running out of things to say to each other, enough photos had been taken and their drinks were running low...

Sirens! Bouncers! Red tape!

Photobucket

The run way was marked off by tape as the crowd saw bouncers ploughing through the crowd to section off a path. The doors opened, and out came models with... animal masks?

SERIOUS animal masks.

It was an invasion parodying 'Animal Farm' by George Orwell & the arrival of the models created mixed 'gasps' and 'ooooh's from the crowd. I applaud this model...

...Michelle Chan, for walking with a dolphin on her head. Seeing through that mouth is not easy! Actually, we applaud all our models. Walking around with a larger than life head piece is one balancing act indeed. Thanks guys, you guys are the coolest. We now know that dolphins often mate with the same gender, without Discovery.

So the show continued, quick in, quick out. The models soon took off their masks and revealed their pretty clothes and faces. Here's Jia Wen, Elvin, Erika, and Indy with their models.

Not to forget Jennifer and Natalie's collections. Unfortunately they couldn't attend that night, but we loved their creations nonetheless.

Then the models led the crowd to Zouk where the Wardroblings designers took to the main stage with their designs.

This was also where the clothes could be properly photographed, admired/viewed, and analyzed after that quick shock.

Then our guests gathered at Members' bar to mingle and enjoy the rest of Wardrobe 2009, featuring YuMuMu & ZEETA Apparel

The night ended off with our meet and greet session, where designers, models, TFF girls and industry professionals could meet, greet, and have fun!

And as all shows go, most of the scurrying, panic attacks and "omg where's my shoe!?"'s happen backstage. So here's a few photos to show you all what happened behind the scenes.

The day was long, the adrenaline was unbeatable and there was never a dull moment. Although we hit a few bumps along the way, they were great learning points that we hope will contribute to our next fashion show! Overall the experience was superb. That was our Wardroblings 2009 for you. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did, and look forward to seeing you again! :)

Thank you all for supporting us and Singapore's fashion scene! We <3 you and will catch you soon :)

xxx,
The TFF Girls.

  1. hello, i just heard about this event that took place after reading about it on another singapore style blog. how interesting!! although i thought some of the styling choices were a little hohum, i'm glad to see that the fashion scene in singapore is really picking up and it's great that people like you guys are working hard to make it happen. i left singapore for tokyo about 5 years ago and am studying at parsons now, so it was also quite interesting for me to see (i think her name was) jennifer who took part in the show, and was apparently from parsons? i wish i knew there was another singaporean here!

hopefully one day when i move back i will participate in this. haha. after i finish up with my new york/patricia field love affair and my other affair with tokyo, i want to set up shop in singapore!
